Alliance News and Updates

The Colorado Alliance will host a presentation on SIPX for Higher Education.  SIPX is a “web-based technology, created to manage copyrights and deliver digital course materials.”  (from the SIPX brochure).  Through SIPX, a library user is able to access material in their institution’s holdings, as well as royalty free and public domain content.  Professors can use SIPX to locate specific articles or other documents and embed links in their course syllabus.  Some advantages of SIPX include

  • Help in acquiring permissions.
  • Reduction of copyright infringement risk.
  • Application of appropriate rights and discounts.
  • Data and analytics showing which content students are using.

The presentation will be at the Colorado Alliance, 3801 E. Florida Ave., Suite 515, Denver, on Monday, February 10, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Dylan Moulton, Director of University Sales at SIPX, will be presenting.  You may attend either in person or via Webex.  More information about SIPX is available at http://www.sipx.com.

If interested, please contact Terry Leopold at the Alliance (terry@coalliance.org) by February 6 and indicate whether you want to attend in person or via a Webex connection.
