On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the joint meeting of the Board of Directors and Member Council, a set of licensing principles was approved. The principles were developed by a task force under the Shared Collection Development Committee. Since the 1990s, the Alliance has been doing e-resource licensing on behalf of its members for ejournals, ebooks, databases, and other products and services of interest to its members.
This set of principles codifies many of the practices already practiced by the Alliance and sets standards for future negotiations.
More information is available from the Alliance office.
Thanks to Heidi Splittgerber in the Collections Strategies Department at Colorado State University who led the task force on developing the new guidelines.
